More than two months later, the incriminated publication is still visible on the Facebook network of the Rassemblement national de Vaucluse (RN 84). The far-right party relayed a letter addressed to the prefect to “ alert him » of the activities of Rosmerta and one of its leading figures, Chantal Raffanel. A publication deemed slanderous by the association, which had taken legal action to request its withdrawal.
Heard on December 16 after two referrals, the case delivered a first verdict this Tuesday. The Avignon court dismissed Rosmerta's case, declaring “the action brought” inadmissible and ordered the association and Chantal Raffanel to pay 1,500 euros to the Vaucluse RN. “ Rosmerta wanted to silence us, we will not be silentsays Thierry D'Aigremont, departmental secretary of RN 84. We just hit since the justice system does not condemn us. As elected officials, we inform people about the actions, we will continue. »
A very different reading from Rosmerta. If the association did not wish to react officially, their lawyer Me Marcel will file a request for rectification. Their council considers in fact that the judgment contains numerous errors and confusions, in particular regarding the signatories of the letter, namely all of the elected RNs of the department. A first step before appealing, if necessary, the decision if it is confirmed.
Recognized as being of public utility, Rosmerta set up a citizen SCI to acquire its own reception center for exiles and unaccompanied minors. As soon as the accusation was made by the RN, Rosmerta had received numerous reactions of support and solidarity, such as the PCF, Génération.s, the Human Rights League or the No Pasaran collective.
In addition to this summary decision, which has been rejected for the time being, Rosmerta has initiated a second legal procedure with the filing of a complaint for defamation, which has not yet been studied.
