Wednesday December 10Didier Paré, road manager at Métropole, Rémi Randoing, from the project manager company l'Abeil and Christophe Chevance, mayor of Brécé (Ille-et-Vilaine), took stock of the works regarding the layout of the town entrance crossroads, near the four lanes Rennes-.

Resumption of work on January 6

“Work started on October 7, intended to secure the entrance to the city with plateau by reducing the speed,” summarizes the mayor. The work will stop on December 19 for three weeks and restart January 6 with finishing at the end of March.

“And pedestrian path» linking the town to Brécé-sud is currently under construction. “We are moving the roadway on the Rennes side” to create the pedestrian path (1.5 m wide) on the Vitré side. On the Rennes side, there remains 45 cm of width, the minimum, with the roadway remaining 6.5 m wide.

“The final carpet will be made at night”

“Very important” for Christophe Chevance at the origin of the initiative, “a sheath for the optical fiber is installed under the pedestrian path”, transplanted from the intersection under construction to the panel located on the other side of the four ways.

This sheath will allow the inhabitants of Brécé-sud and Noyal to subsequently benefit from the optical fiber.

The carpooling area, also under construction, “will benefit from 20 carpooling spaces initially,” says Didier Paré. In the medium term, it is possible to double the capacity, or even triple it “to free up parking, church square” which will become a blue zone. Commissioning is planned for the end of March.

The development work on the crossroads as well as the pedestrian path towards Brécé-sud are financed by Rennes Métropole, project owner with a cost of 450 000 €. The cost of the parking area amounts to €150,000.
