Jérémy Frérot is a kid from the sands. This is the name he chose for his latest album carried by the single Adieu who made a lot of noise since he talks about his breakup with Laure Manaudou made official last April, the mother of his two children, two boys, one of whom is called Lou. The singer and the former swimmer have never revealed the first name of their second child who was born in January 2021.
Sand Kid is also the name of the last restaurant that Jérémy Frérot opened in the Arcachon basin region. His favorite region where he lives and where he has another establishment, Le Pesctacle. It is from his restaurant located by the sea, which he opened with his friend Igor Sonnier and which is also a nod to the song The song of the sirens of his former duo Frérot Delavega, that Jérémy Frérot gave a video interview to Loopsider.
In this interview, the 34-year-old singer not only confides in his strong attachment to the Arcachon basin, he also talks about the moves that have taken place in his life. When he went to live in Montargis with his parents, when he moved to Paris to launch his duo with Flo Delevega (their participation in the third season of The Voice in 2014 propelled them to the forefront even if they did not win the show) and finally when he lived in Marseille with Laure Manaudou.
It was for Laure Manaudou that Jérémy Frérot was willing to live in the Phocaean city, where the former queen of the pools was based with her daughter Manon (whom she had in 2010 with Frédérick Bousquet) and where she settled long trained. A life that was marked by moments of happiness but also by more complicated moments. Marseille, although endowed with many qualities, the most obvious of which are undoubtedly the sun and the sea, has not succeeded in making the singer forget his beloved southwest. So much so that after a few years, he wanted to return to live there.
“I met the mother of my children, I went to live in Marseille. I was so sick of this place, of the country, that I came back to live here. It's been four or five years now“, confides Jérémy Frérot to Loopsiderfrom the sunny terrace of its restaurant Sand kid.
Why was Jérémy Frérot unable to live in Marseille?
This is not the first time that the singer has shared his complicated experience with Marseille. In February 2021, the artist explained the unhappiness he felt in the South to Gala. “I couldn't get used to life in Marseille. There, I had difficulty getting into the morals, the ways of being. In short, I didn't manage to integrate. But it's not the fault of the Marseillais, it's mine!“, he confided. For the good of his other half, Laure Manaudou had agreed to move to the Arcachon basin. They even got married there in May 2018. “She really likes it here. It's a kid's paradise, and we blend in perfectly.“, added Jérémy Frérot. And despite their separation, Laure Manaudou remained living in the southwest so that their two boys can fully enjoy their two parents despite the separation.
