On this day of national mourning, a minute of silence in tribute to the victims of Cyclone Chido was observed at 11 a.m., Monday December 23, 2024, particularly in public services. Thus, in Loir-et-Cher, around forty city agents and elected officials met in the courtyard of the Blois town hall.

“We have a thought for the population of Mayotte, today in immense mourning, declared the deputy mayor, Corinne Garcia, on the steps of city hall. We do not yet know the precise number of victims (1), and we may never know. As we prepare to celebrate Christmas, it is important to spare a thought for this island. Thank you to public officials for their presence. »
Aid from several municipalities
We noted the presence on site of Yann Laffont, delegated advisor for new energies and the energy transition of buildings, Matthieu Lhériteau, general director of services of Agglopolys, and Marie-Hélène Hamelin, general director of services, deputy of the City of Blois.

Remember that during the last municipal council, the City of Blois voted to provide €5,000 in aid to the National Civil Protection Federation, which carries out numerous actions for the benefit of populations affected by the cyclone. Several other communities have mobilized, such as the town of Muides-sur-Loire, which will donate the costs of the mayor's wishes to an aid association.
(1) The provisional toll established by the authorities amounts to 35 dead and 2,500 injured.
