– RC : with Christmas and compulsory rest days, how the RCV will adapt

RC Vannes is preparing to discover “Boxing Day” and its matches during the holiday period. He had to adapt his usual programming to the constraints imposed by the collective agreement for professional Top 14 & Pro D2*.

The RCV players benefit from four days of rest, from Sunday December 22 to Wednesday December 25, and will thus only have two days of training to prepare for the bottom-of-the-table clash in , Saturday (2 p.m.), at the occasion of the 13th day of Top 14, the last of the first leg.

The Vannes staff opted for this option rather than the second, reducing to three days of rest at Christmas time, but imposing, in return, two consecutive days of rest the previous week and the following.

“There would have been two weeks without Monday training, our strategic-clarity training,” Simon Boisbluche, the head of physical preparation at RCV, explained last week. For us, it penalized us too much. So we're going to do four days off, we'll prepare for the Pau match over two days and then we'll resume a normal cycle. »

The Vannetais will train normally on Thursday and Friday morning, before traveling to Pau in the afternoon of Friday.

The players have an individual recovery program to maintain themselves during these days without collective training in order to keep the rhythm and, above all, to reduce the risk of injury.

The Paloise Section will also resume on Thursday with a two-day training course in Anglet to prepare for this important match, which follows a heavy defeat in (25-56). The Palois will return to Béarn on Saturday morning, just a few hours before the start of the match. In order to prepare together for this poorly ranked duel which could have a big impact on the rest of the season.
