Saint-Denis: fake police officers kidnap and steal a man from his home in the middle of the night

Two men and a woman posing as police officers knocked on the door of a home in the dead of night: this is the beginning of the improbable scenario which played out this Sunday, December 22 around 3:30 a.m. at Place Stéphane -Mallarmé, in a district of social buildings in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis).

Despite the night schedule, the victim, a 56-year-old man, opens the door. Was he given confidence by the fact that these intruders identified themselves as law enforcement? Did they wear a uniform or an armband? No clear answer at this stage of the investigation. Nevertheless, the resident lets them in.

Knives, tear gas…

Then a completely different story begins: a change of tone, the perpetrators reveal their game. They are in fact equipped with knives, according to the first known elements of the investigation. They allegedly tied their victim's hands and gagged her mouth with duct tape before making her sit on the sofa.

They also used tear gas. The trio of attackers allegedly managed to steal the sum of 1,200 euros in cash, a chain and a gold ring that the 56-year-old man was carrying. Two bank cards and his identity papers were also stolen.

The kidnapping and violence lasted around twenty minutes, according to the victim. Slightly injured in the hand, she was taken to hospital. The Saint-Denis police station was seized of the investigation.
