The basketball players enjoy a South Cup without moderation

Sport Basket enforced the hierarchy this weekend by winning the Final Four of the Coupe Territoriale Sud organized in Salon-de-Provence. In the final, the Martégales (N1F) largely dominated (N3) this afternoon 95/64.

There is no small trophy. The Martigues basketball players demonstrated this by being very serious to win the South Territorial Cup for the second year in a row. As coach Julia Borde recalled: “I told the girls before the match that winning a title, a cup in your career is never guaranteed and it's always a pleasure. These are also important team moments. We had to take this match seriously, they did it, I congratulate them for that“.

After defeating (PN) yesterday in 1/2 (107/49), Julia Borde's players left Antibes (N3) no chance this afternoon in the final. The Azuréennes – who started with 14 points ahead, playing two divisions below – saw the Martégales take the lead in the 15th minute (35/34). Then, the MSB only logically widened the gap (47/36, 20th; 73/49, 30th; 95/64, 40th). “We had fun, we played together, victory is at the end, it's perfect“, reacted the MVP of the match Chloé Macé.

With this new trophy, the MSB players have given themselves a nice little Christmas present early and will now be able to take full advantage of the short break before attacking 2025 with great ambitions. Currently 5th in Nationale 1, the Martégales remain on 4 victories in a row in the championship and will resume on January 11 with the reception of the red lantern BLMA Espoir.

The city of Salon-de-Provence, which hosted the finals of this South Territorial Cup, also saw the victory of Pays Salonais at home against Golfe Juan 89/63 in the senior men's final. Rognac won the U18F title against Terres de 53/51. Cagnes won in U20M against Venelles 97/45. Venelles for its part won the U18M cup against 74/48.
