Pro League: at the end of the suspense, the Union and Club Bruges part ways

The second shock this Sunday in the Pro League opposed Club Bruges and Union Saint-Gilloise. Final score 2-2.

The duel between the Union and Club Bruges did not have a winner. Franjo Ivanovic (45th+4) and Casper Nielsen (60th, csc) gave the Unionists a double lead but Chemsdine Talbi (66th) and Gustaf Nilsson (78th) annihilated it.

After 19 days, the Club (38 points) is 2nd and the Union (28) 6th. At Union, Sébastien Pocognoli dismissed Loïc Lapoussin for Ousseynou Niang and Noah Sadiki returned at the expense of Kevin Van De Perre. In Bruges, Maxim De Cuyper and Raphael Onyedika did not make the trip, giving a chance to Kyriani Sabbe and Nielsen.

Also, Nicky Hayen preferred Andreas Skov Olsen over Talbi. Relying on their attacking duo Promise David-Ivanovic, the Brussels residents started this match at full speed but their efforts and their grinta did not lead to any chances.

In the meantime, the Blauw & Zwart became more and more intrusive and after a long shot from Christos Tzolis, Christian Burgess intervened in front of Nilsson (24th). Shortly after, Anthony Moris stretched to block a delivery from Hans Vanaken (32nd).

On the other side, Simon Mignolet also made a superb save by deflecting a point-blank shot from Ivanovic (41st). But the Croatian striker had not lost his means and punctuated a long run started in his own half with a cross strike (45th + 4, 1-0).

Unattractive, the first minutes of the restart were marked by Nielsen's autogoal on the rebound of a David send sent back by Mignolet (60th, 2-0). The Club reduced its delay through Taibi, who had been on the pitch for a minute (66th, 2-1). Shortly after, the Bruges equalized on a free kick: while Moris had intervened on a clever backheel from Ferran Jutgla, Nilsson equalized on the rebound (78th, 2-2).
