Thursday December 19, 2024, Joris* (33 years old) and Mathias* (26 years old) were tried for breach of trust from January to February 2024 in Caen, to the detriment of Dimitri*, a vulnerable person. The facts were judged in the criminal court.

Housed at the “2 things moon” home

During this period, the three protagonists were housed at the 2 chose lune shelter in Caen, which accommodates people in precarious situations. When Dimitri is hospitalized, he does not have his bank card and her family cannot find her. She learns that her account is empty. When he died, there was not a cent left to pay for his funeral.

His relatives will then follow the trail of two individuals that Dimitri frequented. Complaint filed, investigation carried out. In police custody, the two men claim to only know each other by sight. But each of them would have used Dimitri's means of paymentsurveillance videos from businesses prove it.

One recognizes the facts, the other does not

Mathias will recognize him straight away. He was having addiction issues at the time and needed money. He states that Dimitri was disturbed. “He did not have all his mental faculties.” This is not the opinion of Joris who states: “With me, he has always been normal”. He claims to have helped him, to have done his shopping. » He adds:

He also sent me to withdraw money from him. We used to do sports betting together, but I never stole it.

One of the defendants at the hearing

If Mathias' criminal record is clean, Joris's has four mentions, including a firm sentence with a committal warrant handed down by the Cherbourg court for drug trafficking. He received a four-month suspended sentence with a 24-month probationary period, while Mathias received a simple three-month suspended sentence for warning. For civil interests, a postponement is made to October 2025.
