The Coupe de France is the scene of many exploits and that is where its magic comes from. This struck this Sunday with the victory of USL Dunkerque over AJ Auxerre (0-1), resident of Ligue 1.
Already surprising in Ligue 2, with a third place that no one expected at the winter break checkpoint, USL Dunkerque is also capable of achieving exploits in the Coupe de France. In the running for a place in the round of 16, the Dunkirk team lost to AJ Auxerre at Abbé-Deschamps this Sunday (0-1). Luis Castro, his coach, had however made eight changes to his last lineup, preserving important players such as Yacine Bammou, Naatan Skyttä and Ugo Raghouber. Left to rest, the midfielder on loan from LOSC must undoubtedly have appreciated the spectacle.
This link with the Lille club is not unique. If Gaëtan Courtet, captain, had several opportunities to open the score (24′, 25′), it was Enzo Bardeli, taking advantage of a poorly repelled shot, who propelled the leather into the back of Tom Negrel's net (26 ′). These two men, one in Auxerre and the other in Dunkirk, both come from Domaine de Luchin, the LOSC training and training center. The Auxerres, more enterprising after returning from the locker room, however, never managed to turn the tide. The damage was done and AJ Auxerre, although very successful in Ligue 1 (8th), joins the doomed of the elite with cases such as Montpellier or Le Havre.
The Coupe de France is also going rather well for LOSC loanees. Besides Ichem Ferrah, eliminated by his loan club, and Ugo Raghouber, qualified for the round of 16, Annecy shone by surpassing Goal FC of Carmel Mabanza, also a former Lille player (1-2). Trevis also joins the next one. Vincent Burlet, who plays for Le Mans, faces Marmande, Petit Poucet and the Regional 2 club, from 5:30 p.m.
