A twelve-year-old schoolgirl was injured with a knife on the La Timone metro platform, around 1 p.m., Thursday, December 19, according to information from BFM Provence.

According to video surveillance images, three young women, including the victim, were bothered by three men. As the tone rose and the teenagers entered the metro train, one of the teenagers produced an opinel-type knife and stabbed one of the young girls.

The victim, aged twelve, was taken to hospital, without serious injuries, but very shocked.

The three young men then fled on foot, but thanks to video surveillance, the police were able to follow their trail. The man suspected of having stabbed, aged 14, was arrested the same day, shortly before 6 p.m., in IV^e district of Marseille. Another was in the college where he attends, located in the V^e district of the city.

The main suspect was brought in the next day and an investigation was opened. This type of attack has been increasingly recurrent recently around La Timone.
