Amateur football – Regional 1: the Entente Boé Bon-Encontre ends the year 2024 with a new defeat in Mérignac-Arlac

Bad luck, bad luck, scoumoune… Whatever the term used, it applies perfectly to these unfortunate Boetians who once again conceded a frustrating defeat.

A fifth in a row which condemns them to spend the break in the depths of the ranking (13th) in a relegation position. And yet, faced with one of the top names in this group, they were in no way unworthy.

From the outset, Michaud's teammates took the Mérignacais by the throat. A volley from Barran is deflected by the local goalkeeper (2nd). Throughout the first period, the Boétiens multiplied the scoring opportunities through Berthelot, Favennec, Bul and Péjac, but, each time, a bit of success or vision was missing to put it in the back.

The Mérignacais bowed down and only got their first opportunity after half an hour of play. The break was whistled with a goalless draw (0-0, 45th).

A breathtaking end to the match

As too often, the Boétiens gave up and the start of the second half was therefore more balanced. From a corner, Grattieri can do nothing with a point-blank volley (1-0, 65th).

Once again, the Boétiens were found wanting on a set piece. Despite this twist of fate, they put the work back on the job. They try to come back to the score, but probably reveal too much and concede a second goal against (2-0, 74th).

The end of the match is epic: Péjac manages to reduce the score with a cross strike (2-1, 90+ 4th). On a final action, the omnipresent Berthelot crosses back for Anamlal who fails to finish (95th).

An equalizing ball which would have rewarded the Lot-et-Garonnais for their profusion of efforts and somewhat attenuated the feeling that in this first part of the championship all the elements were against them. Looking forward to 2025 so that luck finally turns in their favor.
