Calum Ritchie broke a 2-2 tie in the third period, and Canada defeated Sweden 4-2 in its second World Junior Hockey Championship preseason game on Saturday.
Sweden built a 2-1 lead in the second period thanks to goals from Felix Unger Sörum and Rasmus Bergqvist. The northern European nation, however, was unable to maintain the pace in the third, being outshot 17-6 in the period and 44-24 overall.
Luca Pinelli, Oliver Bonk and Easton Cowan also hit the target for the maple leaf representatives. Ritchie added two assists.
Both teams were shut out on the power play. Canada had three chances, one more than Sweden.
The Canadians defeated Switzerland 7-1 on Thursday in their first preseason game. They will play one last Monday, against the Czech Republic. Their first round robin match will take place on Wednesday against Finland.
