Aby Dia, a young basketball hopeful from the Louga region, was honored during a ceremony at the Center La Liane, a shelter for vulnerable children. After practicing karate for several years, Aby finally found his way in basketball by joining the Saint-Louis Basket Club (SLBC), without much conviction at first.
This season, her commitment and exemplary discipline caught the attention of team managers, who decided to distinguish her for her respect for the coach's instructions and her team spirit. “She is an example of success,” declared Claude Hallégiot, director of the La Liane Center, satisfied with this recognition. “Our wish is that the children succeed as best as possible,” she added during the presentation of the trophy and medal.
“The La Liane Center currently welcomes 45 children, including 20 girls and 25 boys, aged four to eighteen,” recalled the director.
During this ceremony, Aby Dia expressed her gratitude for the support and support she receives within this structure. In front of the regional sports inspector, she shared her enthusiasm and her wish to climb the basketball ladder.
As inspiration, Aby encouraged the other young girls present to believe in themselves and give their best in their sporting aspirations. This distinction only sharpens his ambitions, marking the start of a promising career within SLBC.
