These were the final preparations this weekend for Miquelon producers in order to be able to deliver to the entire archipelago for Christmas Eve and the holidays. An important period economically for them.
It is currently the main part of the archipelago to produce locally. From goat cheeses to ducks, the last few weeks have been full throttle for farms.
This is particularly the case at Ferme de l'Ouest, which prepared products from a thousand ducks: fresh duck breasts, foie gras, confits, etc.
For us, half of the turnover is generated at the end of the year. And this for two months of work upstream.

Same story for the two local goat farms and cheese producers.
Products delivered to order in Saint-Pierre, but which also supply local businesses in Miquelon. They also offer menus or homemade products for the end-of-year celebrations.
Economically important for the “big island” of the archipelago, but also the smaller of the two municipalities facing the closure of certain businesses in recent months.
