Strong winds in Saint-Malo: events canceled and parks closed this Sunday

Faced with gusts of wind which could reach 120-130 km/h this Sunday on the coast of Ille-et-Vilaine, placed on orange vigilance by Météo , the City of Saint-Malo announced the closure and cancellation of several places on site. The Christmas market will therefore be closed to the public all day. The Horses of the Sea ride, initially scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed to Friday, December 27.

Parks, gardens and wooded cemeteries will also be made inaccessible, including Square Jean-Lemasson; the garden of the Cartier doors; the Bel Air, Briantais, Herbages and Pont Toqué parks; as well as the Ormeaux, Jeanne-Jugan and Rothéneuf cemeteries. Please note that the Sainte-Anne rose garden and the Parc des Chênes will be closed at usual times. However, users of the second park are asked to avoid driving and parking there.

Tips for being careful

The City recommends that users limit their travel; to find out about traffic conditions, limit your speed on roads and motorways, in particular if you are driving a vehicle or vehicle sensitive to the effects of wind or if visibility is reduced; to store or secure objects sensitive to the effects of wind or likely to be damaged (waste containers, pergola, tools, garden furniture, flower pots, etc.), not to walk in wooded parks, in the forest, on the coastline or near watercourses, to avoid going out into wooded areas or at sea; to watch out for falling trees or objects; not to work on roofs and under no circumstances touch electrical wires that have fallen to the ground.
