Orders from the Var prefect on temporary bans during the end-of-year celebrations target the use of fireworks by individuals as well as the retail sale and transport of fuels.
SAFETY – Fireworks and fuel: temporary bans during the end-of-year holidays
The prefect of Var has issued two temporary banning orders in order to guarantee everyone's safety during the end-of-year celebrations:
Temporary ban on the use of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles by individuals
The purchase, sale, possession, transport and use of fireworks are prohibited for individuals from Monday December 23, 2024 at 12 a.m. until Thursday December 26, 2024 at 12 p.m. and from Monday December 30, 2024 at 12 a.m. to Thursday January 2, 2025 at 12 p.m.:
> In the territories of the municipalities of Toulon, Seyne-sur-Mer, Hyères, Fréjus and Saint Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume.In the following places of large gatherings of people as well as in their immediate surroundings:
• the La Garde Christmas market,
• the drone show in Bandol, December 31, 2024
> Temporary ban on the purchase and retail sale of fuelThe purchase and retail sale, removal or transport in any transportable container such as cans, jerricans, cubitainers, flasks or various containers, of combustible and corrosive products, fuel and flammable gases are prohibited on the territory of the all the municipalities of Var from Monday December 23, 2024 at 12 a.m. until Thursday December 26, 2024 at 12 p.m. and from Monday December 30 2024 at 12 a.m. to Thursday January 2, 2025 at 12 p.m.
Managers of service stations, particularly those with automated fuel dispensing devices or pumps, must ensure that customers are informed and that this requirement is respected.
Random checks will be organized and increased during this period by the national police and gendarmerie services.
