Following an act of vandalism, the illuminations of rue Jean XXIII on the Ergué-Armel plateau could not be held last year, to the great dismay of the residents and especially the children.
This year, André Lauden, encouraged by his wife Christiane and especially to respond to the requests of his six grandchildren, put on his work overalls around November 10 and, at the rate of three to four hours of work per day, has just given back to the house with its traditional end-of-year illumination.
For the Lauden family, the emphasis is placed neither on the nativity scene nor on its characters but on the Christmas landscapes, with of course mountains, snow, winter sports, mobiles… all lit up. As an indication, André Lauden installed more than a kilometer of electrical cables to light 300 m of various garlands, 48 mobiles: carousel trains, ski lifts, animals, etc.
To admirers of his achievements, André Lauden modestly explains: “To each his own pleasure. I have the plans in mind, the equipment at hand. The weather is gloomy, I'm going at my own pace. Our joy for Christiane and me? See the pleasure and admiration that we have generated among adults and children. We derive our pleasure from the pleasure of others, this cannot be quantified. »
It is possible to visit the exhibition until January 15, except Christmas Day at 10 rue Jean XXIII, in Quimper.
