exclusive Senegal gets 30 billion CFA from BOAD for

The board of directors of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) declares having approved nine new operations for a total amount of 171 billion 363 million CFA francs, including the extension of a video surveillance network in Dakar.

The cost of these operations concerning projects to be implemented brings the overall budget of BOAD's commitments for the year 2024 to 932 billion 631 million CFA francs, according to a press release from this regional bank.

The document announces a loan of 30 billion CFA francs for the benefit of the State of Senegal for the extension of the network and the video projection platform unified network of the city of Dakar and its suburbs''.

''The densification of the video surveillance network in Dakar and its extension to peripheral municipalities through the deployment of 26 new secondary operations sites […] will contribute to strengthening security in urban areas,'' explains BOAD.

The financing of this project will ''increase the crime prevention rate to 80% in the city of Dakar and its region, ensure security coverage of at least 70% of sensitive areas [et générer] around 540 direct, indirect and induced jobs''.

The 144th ordinary session of the board of directors of the West African Development Bank took place at the institution's headquarters in Lomé.

''The meeting also gave a favorable opinion on […] the proposal for the creation of a corporate foundation by BOAD,'' announced the press release.

The directors agreed for the participation of the regional bank in the capital increase of Air Côte d'Ivoire, which will “strengthen the stable resources of [ladite compagnie] to enable it to finance its investments and regularize its own funds.
