After the announcement of the verdict, the emotion of the young civil parties erupted in front of the large room of the Saint-Brieuc judicial court. This is where, for three days, the trial of the ex-manager of the bar des Loges, a Briochin establishment on Place du Chai, had been taking place. Aged 33, Nicolas Moncan was tried there by the Côtes-d'Armor departmental criminal court for rape, rape of a minor, aggravated voyeurism and recording of images of a sexual nature.
This Friday, December 20, 2024, the court sentenced him to fifteen years of criminal imprisonment, in accordance with the requests made by the prosecutor. Upon his release from detention, he will be subject to socio-judicial monitoring with the obligation to undergo psychological monitoring for ten years, failing which he will face an additional five-year prison sentence. He will also have to compensate the three victims of the case.
In detention since the events
Two of them being aged 17 at the time of the events, the 30-year-old was also sentenced to a permanent ban on carrying out an activity linked to minors and on being an employee or managing a drinks establishment for five years after his release from prison. His name will now also appear in the Automated Judicial File of perpetrators of sexual or violent offenses (Fijeas).
If he admitted the rape of one of the young women, which he had filmed with his cell phone, Nicolas Moncan denied that of the two minors. He was placed in pre-trial detention on June 23, 2021, one month after the first complaint against him.
