To celebrate Christmas and the permanent reopening of the Maison de Fogasses, in Avignon, in 2025, six events are organized by different artists. Among them, Julien Delmaire will lead the workshop “writing a poetic garland” while Célia Conil will take care of the “cooking your gourmet cake” activity.
Julien Delmaire is a writer and has been running workshops on writing in schools, prisons and healthcare establishments for around twenty years. “We looked for ideas for activities linked to Christmas and writing”explains the author.
Poetic greeting cards
For 2 hours, participants will be able to learn about writing, by writing texts that “will be used to write poetic greeting cards”. The writing forms will be in free verse, short and with playful suggestions to suit any audience. “The workshop will be a succession of small writing proposals which will be stimulated either by authors’ texts, musical extracts, photos or even paintings”details Julien Delmaire.
The title of the workshop, “poetic garland” is inspired by an extract from a poem by Arthur Rimbaud.
The event is scheduled for December 21, 22 and 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a price of €50.
Kitchen and decoration
For her part, Célia Conil defines herself as a “Swiss army knife” : “I am currently working in events, but I am also an English trainer and I have been a chef”she laughs. She will host a cooking workshop where you will have to prepare your Christmas cake but also make your festive table by creating small decorations. “Cooking is an opportunity to share a good time. At the end of the workshop, everyone leaves with their own cake and small decorations”explains Célia Conil.
Time slots at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. are offered every day, from December 21 to 24 at a price of €35.
For the two artists, these moments are an opportunity to “transmit and share with others what drives them”.
