A TER every 30 minutes during rush hours at station: what the city will pay for

More TER trains to better serve southern , from (Morbihan) to (Finistère): this is the promise of the BreizhGo Express Sud project. From September 2025, there will be seventeen additional TER trains on this axis, from Monday to Friday. Four more will be added one year later, from September 2026.

1,200 TER travelers every day in Quimper

This unique partnership brings together the Brittany Region and the six agglomeration communities or municipalities of Quimper, Concarneau, Quimperlé, Auray, and Vannes. On the cost side, the project is carried 70% by the Region and 30% by the other communities, each putting “in proportion to its population”it was explained by the partners a few days ago at Quimper station.

How much does this represent for Quimper Western Brittany? The figures were presented to elected officials during the council meeting this Thursday, December 19, 2024: “An operating aid subsidy of €138,914 in 2025, then an annual subsidy of €169,966 over the period 2026-2033. As well as an average investment subsidy of €70,077 per year over the period 2024-2058. »

QBO adds that, “every day, 1,200 travelers arrive at Quimper station by TER, almost 40% more than in 2019”.
