In Gironde, high school students offer solidarity boxes to the most deprived families

Students and families of Agir de Langon high school (Gironde) created solidarity boxes (a shoebox with a warm accessory, a hygiene product, sweets, a sweet word or a drawing and a hobby) and a toy collection at the high school during the month of December, in partnership with the antenna of Popular Relief of Saint-Pierre-d’Aurillac.

Thursday December 19, 2024, 55 solidarity boxes, toys, books and cuddly toys were given to Martine Hicaire and Yvon Martin, co-responsible for Secours Populaire.

We have 54 beneficiary families who will receive these solidarity boxes.

This is the second year that Agir high school has participated in the solidarity box operation. Last year, a Lot-et-Garonnaise association benefited.

“We wanted a local association this year,” explains Shana Ochoa, “in civic service and at the initiative of this school life project. We made posters to raise awareness among students in November and sent an email to families. Everyone did it on their own scale. Some people worked together to complete a box. The objective in this personal service high school is to raise awareness among young people about solidarity. »

Friday, December 20, at Secours Populaire in Saint-Pierre-d’Aurillac, 36 children will welcome Green Santa.

That same day, a ugly sweater contest is organized at the Agir high school and the students will elect the “ugliest sweater” and “the most beautiful”.
