The first names of the Fiction jury at the international political film festival, which will take place from January 16 to 20, have been revealed.

Alice Isaaz, Mounia Meddour and Pierre Deladonchamps will be part of the Fiction jury, which will award the Grand Prize for Best Fiction Feature Film and a special mention, during the international political film festival which will take place in Carcassonne from January 16 to 20.

These three personalities from the world of cinema were chosen for their political and social commitment, through the films in which they acted or directed.

Thus, Mounia Meddour is particularly known for her films Papicha (2019) and Houria (2022). The first follows Nedjma, a young Algerian who, in the 1990s, pursues her dream of becoming a stylist, in a society where social and moral standards are dictated by Islamists. With Houria, Mounia Meddour follows the personal reconstruction of a woman in a patriarchal society. Two films which today make him an important voice in committed cinema, combining social reflection and the 7th art.

Alice Isaaz first got noticed with the film The Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles (2014). She followed this with La crème de la crème (2014), Mademoiselle de Joncquières (2018) and Vivants (2023), a film about journalism in a context of information crisis. She was praised by critics for the complexity of the character she plays.

Pierre Deladonchamps became known to the general public in 2013 with L’inconnu du lac, for which he won the César for Most Promising Actor. In 2023, he plays a key role in La Syndicaliste, a political film where he plays a deputy chief with a strong character. His commitment to social causes is also reflected personally, with public positions, such as his support for the Urgence Homophobia association.
