Altercation between a bus driver and a minor in : here is the driver’s sanction

After his altercation with a minor fraudster, the bus driver was called for an interview by his management. Tisséo announced that a one-day layoff will be enough.

“We never considered dismissal,” assures Tisséo. After the altercation of one of its drivers with a minor who refused to pay for his transport ticket, on Friday December 6, the management of the public transport network summoned its agent. The meeting was held this Wednesday.

Tisséo considered that the agent concerned did not fully respect the protocols in force. A disciplinary procedure was therefore initiated. After analyzing the facts, it was decided “that a one-day layoff will be enough”, mainly punishing the fact that “the agent left his post, thus exposing himself to unnecessary risks”.

A complaint filed

According to management, although the situation became tense, no insults or violence were attributed to the driver. A complaint for repeat fraud was filed by the company, which also proposed an exchange with the families of the two minors, aimed at raising awareness of the consequences of repeated fraud.

The driver, recognizing his blunders, agreed to share his experience as part of the training of new drivers, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols.
