C’Chartres Table Tennis logically beaten by the Lebrun brothers, in Nîmes/Montpellier

There was no miracle. The C’Chartres TT had no illusions in Nîmes-Montpellier, clear winner 3-0 this Thursday, December 19, in Castelnau-le-Lez, in front of 2,000 spectators. If the red lantern from Chartres remains stuck in last place, his opponent took the opportunity to regain the leadership chair of ProA.

In the most unbalanced duel of the evening, Félix Lebrun logically disposed of Antoine Noirault. Too often approximate in serving, Emmanuel Rassouw’s protégé lost to the double Olympic medalist from Paris, in less than fifteen minutes (11-5, 11-5, 11-5).

The evening didn’t get any better for Chartres when Bence Majoros showed up at the table. Facing Antoine Hachard (n°32), the Hungarian got off to the best start in the first two sets (7-4 in the first, 7-6 in the second) but showed brittleness afterwards and had to let go, in three dry sets (11-8, 11-9, 11-8).

Mino passes by

The third duel, unfortunately, proved to be the last of the evening. Alberto Mino, battling Grégoire Jean, the lowest ranked Montpellier (n°75), was unable to seize the opening and tame his opponent’s left paw. Beaten 3-1, the Ecuadorian was unable to offer his colors a victory and a point which would have been a consolation prize for a CCTT ultimately beaten 3-0.

The Chartrains, who have no victories at the end of the first phase (9 defeats), will return to ProA on January 26. At home, against Hennebont (10th day), they will try to start the new year better than they finished 2024, this Thursday, in Hérault.
