One week, at the beginning of December 2024, 14 sixth grade students of Jacques-Émile-Blanche collegein Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime) played in front of their schoolmates, but also in front of their colleagues from the Monod-Camus school and the IME Max-Brière, three scenes which they partly wrote and which are, unfortunately, still relevant today: the harassment, discrimination and racketeering.
From co-writing to stage
In the presence of Donatien Amouroux, the principal, but also of Stéphanie Levieux, Elbeuf academy inspector, the children were the actors of three different scenes, but above all repeated, to be able to perform a forum theater.
If the students co-wrote the acts, they were guided by Farid Kerchourch, traveling actor from the Café-crème company and Mallaury Goncalvès, education assistant, member of the pHARe system.
Unfortunately, these topics are sadly topical. The children are perfectly aware of this and many wanted to play the proposed scenes, selected by lot.
During each performance, the “actors” act out a scene relating to one of the three themes, with each spectator observing. Then, they replay the same scene, which can be interrupted by the spectators, who even have the opportunity to replace one of the actors to illustrate on sitetheir opinion on the situation.
If the performances ended with the final clap pronounced by Farid, it was clear that the actors and spectators continued their reflections on three subjects that they want to banish forever.
