Quinté+: Quinté+ from Friday December 20 in : Jipet de Crépin, the perfect favorite

The starters for Quinté+ this Friday, December 20

CHALAIS PRICEFRIDAY DECEMBER 20
PARIS- – 2700 METERS – DEPARTURE: 8:15 p.m.

The forces present

Winner almost one in three times since the start of his career, JIPET DE CREPIN (11) is still behind in winnings. He was not able to benefit from a very favorable course last time and can return to success here.

The opposition will be led by the “Bigeon” JOVIAL HAUFOR (8) and JANKO HAUFOR (6), who started their winter meeting perfectly. Author of a fantastic end to the race at the last place, in a Group 3, JACKSON D’ARC (4) would be greatly advantaged by a sustained pace. If he has free rein at the right time, he has more than enough means to get on the podium. JAGUAR DE LAUMAC (10) is doing all its races and is better than its recent result in a more upscale field (6th) indicates. At the end of an uneventful journey, this student of Pierre-Yves Verva has his place at the finish.

JAGUAR D’OBRET (13), presented in “race mode” upon its reappearance, JAGUAR DU FAN (7), back in its favorite specialty after a failed attempt at the climb, and JINGLE LOVER (14), well underway, will complete our choice.

The starters in detail and the opinions of the pros

1 – JAGUAR DJOB

Author of a splendid end to 2023, this gelding has now made up his earnings gap and no longer has any margin. He takes on a strong challenge but his mentor unshoes him with all four feet and entrusts him to Matthieu Abrivard. Even if he will benefit from a favorable commitment on January 8 in , he could possibly surprise.

Mickaël Lecourt, trainer:

“Jaguar Djob (1) approaches this Quinté+ in good form. It will take the beaten driver to take a place, because he has no margin. On the other hand, he is brave and knows how to start. It will be equipped with descending blinders for the first time. Matthieu Abrivard, who got along well with him on November 15, will be on the sulky. »

2 – JASPE YOU DOLLAR

After three months of absence, this offspring of Mystic Village was unable to prove dangerous upon his reappearance. He has some interesting titles, notably on the big Vincennes track, but his form is questionable. Whether or not to retain it is a matter of impression.

The reporter’s opinion:

“Absent from August to November, Jaspe du Dollar (2) was very cautious about his return, even seeing himself sanctioned for his behavior. Although he has never disappointed on the 2700 meter course, he must above all reassure. »

3 – JERICHO

Imperial on a reduced track on September 17, this representative of Yannick Desmet then proved disappointing, even if it is true that he was not very lucky in the Prix Brasilia. He’s not an everyday player but Jean-Michel Bazire’s drive will earn him some supporters.

Yannick Desmet, coach:

“Jericho (3) was unlucky last time. It’s unfortunate because his driver, Anthony Barrier, told me that the horse had plenty of resources. If he benefits from a favorable course this time, he is capable of getting on the podium. »

4 – JACKSON D’ARC

Unlucky on November 3 at Argentan, this student of Thomas Levesque then had a remarkable end to the race in a Group 3. If the event is sufficiently selective, he has the means to worry the main favorites.

Thomas Levesque, coach:

“Lately, Jackson d’Arc (4) defended himself very well in a well-composed field. He could even have been second, but he needs to wait. The effort he doesn’t make when going up, he can do when finishing. He remained in the same state of form and Friday’s field is surely a little less tough. »

5 – WHITE JASMINE

Finally, for his second recovery race, this son of Barjal did not seem to be beaten for the places when he took off in the final turn. It doesn’t have a big margin, especially on the big Vincennes track, but fans of outsiders can be tempted.

Emmanuel Allard, coach:

“Unfortunately, Jasmin Blanc (5) made a mistake during her last outing. Without this, it would have been in the good combination of Quinté+, because it still had resources. He is truly a generous and kind horse, for whom all disqualifications include apologies. On Friday he can place in the top five. »

6 – JANKO HAUFOR

Very consistent last winter, this first asset of Christian Bigeon brilliantly launched his meeting in the Prix d’Hennebont (1st), on the 2100 meters of the big track. Also confirmed on long courses, it promises to be dangerous.

Christian Bigeon, coach:

“Janko Haufor (6) has just won over a shorter distance, but Friday’s won won’t be a problem for him. He is in good shape and will be my preference among my two representatives. »

7 – DAMN JAGUAR

This serious subject was unable to convince during his debut in the mounted and finds here his favorite specialty. He has never won at Vincennes but has taken places there in some interesting lots. At the end of a clear course, he can finish in the top five.

The reporter’s opinion:

“Very consistent since its beginnings in competition, Jaguar du Fan (7) has not managed to distinguish itself recently, during its debut under the saddle. Finding the team again on Friday will undoubtedly do him the greatest good. Watch out for him! »

8 – JOVIAL HAUFOR

This pure Bigeon product held up remarkably well during his first two outings of the meeting and should quickly return to success. Once again associated with David Thomain, he should not disappoint.

Christian Bigeon, coach:

“After an honorable second place over 2100 meters, Jovial Haufor (8) confirmed over the distance of 2700 meters. I also find it more efficient on this classic course. It should still provide good value. »

9 – JIROBELLO

This resident of the unstoppable Mathieu Mottier caused a great disappointment during his return (9th at 2.6/1). More efficient at the mounted trot, he took advantage of this event to refine his condition before future objectives. Simple outsider.

The reporter’s opinion:

“It was with a mounted trot that Jirobello (9) managed to find his way this year. Expected for his return, after a six-month break, this resident of Mathieu Mottier was not able to participate in the finish. Friday’s course is undoubtedly intended to restore his confidence before returning to his specialty. »

10 – LAUMAC JAGUAR

This regular subject has never disappointed on this specific course (three podiums, including one success) and has just performed honorably in a tougher field (6th). He finds a category within his reach and will present himself in his best configuration. All the lights are green.

Pierre-Yves Verva, trainer:

“In the Final of the Open des Régions for 5-year-olds, I misjudged the progress of the race with Jaguar de Laumac (10). I didn’t want to leave too quickly thinking there would be a train, but there wasn’t and we found ourselves too far away. Despite this, he had a good finish in the race. He is in good shape and will perform over his distance. I am confident. »

11 – JIPET DE CREPIN

Dazzling in the Prix Campanus, this student of Sébastien Ernault was unable to benefit from favorable circumstances during his next outing and had to settle for fourth place. Slightly behind in earnings and completely unshod this time, he looks difficult to beat.

Sébastien Ernault, coach:

“The last two performances of Jipet de Crépin (11) are good, even if he had to ride with his nose to the wind in fast-paced races. His times are very good. I didn’t run it all summer in preparation for the winter meeting. I respect him a lot. »

12 – NAUGHTY GAME

This protégé of Sébastien Leblond was not particularly lucky last time, but he has shown his limits for a while. That said, the lot is nothing extraordinary and its seriousness is a significant asset. To possibly slip at the end of the combination.

François Lecanu, driver :

“Jeu Coquin (12) ran well at the end of November at Vincennes. Unfortunately, the horse in front of him couldn’t take him very far. He would undoubtedly have been more comfortable over 2100 meters, with a number on the front row. But if his trainer is traveling on Friday, it is because he thinks he is capable of integrating the right combination of Quinté+! »

13 – JAGUAR D’OBRET

This son of Memphis du Rib has undoubtedly reached a new level since he played without his four irons. He has been absent since September 20 but has already run well in his freshness. Confirmed on this course, he has a good theoretical chance.

The reporter’s opinion:

“In five outings with all four feet unshod, Jaguar d’Obret (13) has two victories and as many accessions. The removal of iron made up for the spark it was missing. Although his driver, Éric Raffin, is associated with Jipet de Crépin (11), he will be able to count on the talent of Benjamin Rochard to continue his momentum. »

14 – JINGLE LOVER

Unlucky during these two attempts in October, this waiter discovered a favorable commitment here. He has already succeeded in this shoeing configuration and Paul Ploquin knows him perfectly. Therefore, it should be retained for the places.

Loïc Peschet, trainer:

“Recently, Jingle Lover (14) was unable to benefit from advantageous circumstances, since he found himself face to face near the hosts. Despite everything, he finished well. The previous times he hadn’t been very lucky either. He has the ability to get on the podium if he benefits from a favorable course. »

15 – I’M LOOKING FOR YOU

Still brand new at 5 years old (only 14 races on the clock), this horse whose earnings are behind has just returned after more than nine months of absence. He still needs to run and will be more competitive in January. To see again.

Théo Duvaldestin, coach-driver:

“The return of Je Te Cherche (15), on November 28, does not count. I realized after the race that he was ill. It will therefore make its real return in Friday’s Quinté+. He will still lack condition. »

16 – JOKER D’OCCAGNES

This protégé of Gilles Curens performed well in a recent Group 3 at Vincennes, undoubtedly already having this superb commitment to the earnings ceiling in mind. Even if he has never convinced on the big track, he can run for a place. A big regret.

Gilles Currens, coach:

“During the Final of the Open des Régions for 5-year-olds, Joker d’Occagnes (16) got off to a good start, then found himself far behind throughout the relays. It’s a shame because he could have claimed third or fourth place. Before that, he had behaved very well at Mauquenchy despite a course with his nose in the wind. This brave and reliable horse can integrate the winning combination. »
