For several years now, a neighborhood conflict pits the residents of a building located at 6 rue des Dentelles in Strasbourg against a mulled wine store.

The latter, embedded in the building, perfumes the entire stairwell. But other nuisances affect the daily lives of residents.

“It stank of wine”

The mulled wine store is located on the left of 6 rue des Dentelles. It overlooks the street, but its internal part is embedded in the building. In this case, there is no no door Who separates the mulled wine room from the entrance corridor of the building. Consequence: the scent of mulled wine fills the entire building.

This problem has existed for a long time. A former resident says that in 2018, she was already bothered by the smells. “It stank of wine,” she sums up.

“I often talked about it with my neighbors. We also have tried to discuss it with the tenant, the restaurateur of the Awakening of the Senses, but the guy didn’t care at all. »

She slips, all the same, that “one year, they had installed a curtain in front of the door of the room where they make mulled wine, but it still smelled. » Curtain which has since disappeared: in any case, it was not there during our report.

The front door regularly left open

Another problem: the store is also located on the other side of 6 rue des Dentelles.

In this part, we find Christmas decorations. Except that the only way to access this room is via the front door of 6 rue des Dentelles. Consequence: the door at 6 rue des Dentelles is regularly left open.

Jessie, daughter of one of the owners, wrote on this subject to her trustee at the Laemmel firm at the beginning of December. They sent a letter to all the owners. I’m not accusing anyone, but I think it’s a shame that people allow themselves to do that. »

During our on-site reporting, a kind of hold was arranged to prevent the front door from closing.

“There were thefts”

“There were thefts,” emphasizes his father, Mr. Stephan. The latter argues that “the commercial premises has the right to use the door, but it must let it close. Before him, there was a barber who kept the door closed. »

To try to change things, “we have hired a lawyerthree, four years ago, but nothing has been done. »

However, he says he spoke with the restaurateur not long ago. “He taught me that local has been sold and he will try to check with the new owner if it would be possible to put another door to prevent anyone from entering. »

A premises not made for commercial use

Information confirmed by Dominique Buch, restorer of L’Eveil des sens.

The latter says that “he been asking for a long time until we put a second door. But theformer owner didn’t want it. » We asked for the number of the former owner to be given to us, to no avail.

As a solution, he installed a doorbell at the entrance.

As for the smells, he admits to being surprised, slipping: “people say it smells good, in general. »

He continues by adding that the real problem is that “this premises is not made for commercial use. But it’s thefive week affairnes. »
