Victim of a fire during the night of Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 November 2024, the premises of the Hisler Metz bookstore have since been closed to the public. This emblematic business of Messins, located a few steps from the cathedral, then experienced a new disappointment: a burglary occurred on the night of Tuesday November 26 to Wednesday November 27.
“The firefighters spoke to us about it, they told us that there are always people who benefit from tragedies,” explains Juliette HISLER, development manager at the Hisler Metz bookstore. Despite this new hard blow, the teams did not give up and mobilized to resume their activities before the Christmas holidays.
It is in the form of a bookstore bus May the adventure continue since Friday, December 13. More than ever, Hisler Metz is doing against bad luck good heart.
Hisler has no shortage of ideas. In just a few weeks, the bookstore bus project became a reality. Now parked place Jean-Paul IIfrom 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the week and late at night on weekends, it welcomes customers in a unusual and friendly setting.
Limited space naturally reduces the offer, but the choice remains varied. “It’s a very short selection, but there’s something for everyone. There are novels, children’s books, comics, regionalism too. We are in Moselle, and we sell local products, which is always a pleasure. We also offer some board games and some stationery. Each time, it’s a little bit,” explains Juliette HISLER.
We should therefore not expect to find all the references previously available on the premises, but the good advice from booksellers are always there to help the customer find the book that suits them or choose a gift to place under the tree.
Juliette HISLER looks back on the adventures experienced by the bookstore, from the fire to the resumption of activity. His intervention at our microphone:
Will Hisler open a pop-up store? The question is under discussion. “We want to come back as quickly as possible. We visit places to move temporarily. We are on the move,” confides the manager. The Hisler BD bookstore should be the first to reopen its doors, but it is still too early to announce a date.
Fighting flames with flames(nkuche)s
The people of Messina are invited toofficial inauguration of the bookstore busthis Thursday, December 19, 2024. A food truck de flammekueches by Cigoflams will be present on site from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The idea, proposed by Étienne DUVAL of Yo Studio, the man behind the design of the bus, in a joking tone, finally convinced the teams. “When there are tragedies, even if there are tragedies worse than this, it is always humor that saves us,” recalls Juliette HISLER.
A drink will be offered from €50 of purchases, and customers will benefit from a free flamekueche from 100 € of purchases. The flamms will also be sold individually at the price of €10 per tarte flambée.
