Winter is here, accompanied by plummeting nighttime temperatures. In Montpellierthe situation homeless people becomes critical. Every week, the Mobile Social Emergency Team (ÉMUS) strives to bring them a little comfort by distributing blankets and hot drinks.

But the needs far exceed the available resources. Currently, only 30 Donations of blankets make it possible to equip some of the 200 people met. An alarming gap between the needs on the ground and the association’s resources.

A call for donations to brave the cold

ÉMUS volunteers patrol the Montpellier metropolis every weekend. Their goal: to leave no one behind. They stop by the homeless, share a snack, a hot coffee and above all, lend an attentive ear. In this context, the association is launching an urgent appeal. Duvets, sleeping bags or simple blankets can make a crucial difference for the homeless. Individuals wishing to contribute can contact ÉMUS by email ([email protected]) or via their social networks. Collection points are open in different locations across the metropolis.
