. Davy and his spit cake at the Christmas market

A well-known figure in , Davy, former chef of the restaurant L’Amélie Mélo located on the Quai Miredames, is at the Christmas market on Place Jean-Jaurès until December 31. It offers a stand dedicated to the famous spit cake.

“This cake often appeared on my gourmet café menus,” confides Davy. Why did you choose this product? “First, because it is made in Vielmur, a local choice that is close to my heart. Secondly, because I know perfectly how it is prepared.”

In addition to the traditional version, the spit cake is available in chocolate, with sizes ranging from the smallest model to an impressive 10 kg piece, expected to delight gourmets.

“It’s a sharing cake, which evokes the flavors of childhood, like the one we enjoyed at our grandparents’ house. My goal is to revive these memories through this product,” explains Davy.

As for his future professional projects with his wife Edwige, the couple prefers to keep it a mystery for the moment. In the meantime, they organize tourist rallies which are very successful.

At the Christmas market, many former customers confide in them: “We miss you!” Because as Davy recalls, “We weren’t just a restaurant.” Always brimming with ideas, he continues to combine creativity and unifying spirit, to everyone’s greatest pleasure.
