Meeting in a political office on Wednesday, December 18, the Tabax Construire party, chaired by Boubacar Camara Kamâh, published a press release to comment on recent events that have marked the country, in particular the legislative elections and the installation of the 15th legislature. In this regard, the political party of the former senior official welcomed “the resounding and unequivocal victory of the Pastef brother party”. Pastef-Les Patriotes, which came well ahead during these elections, obtained 130 deputies out of 165. Therefore, the Tabax Construire party believes that “President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye and his government now have a decisive lever for the implementation of the National Transformation Agenda – Vision 2050”.
Furthermore, after sending its warm thanks to the Senegalese people, Mr. Camara’s party also praised the exemplary commitment of its activists. “We also express our deep gratitude to the leaders and activists of Pastef, whose openness and ability to listen have been pillars in the construction of a solid and lasting alliance. This cooperation is based on fundamental principles: transparency, equity and primacy of the interests of the Senegalese people We urge all members and supporters of Tabax Construire to maintain their mobilization and to organize effectively to actively contribute to the success of this common project,” we read in the press release.
In addition, the Tabax Construire party invited elected officials to establish “a revolutionary Assembly, capable of redefining the normative and institutional rules of our country”. Mr. Camara and his comrades therefore encourage deputies to:
Adopt a budget aligned with citizens’ priorities;
Undertake ambitious institutional reforms;
Promote governance based on justice, equity and efficiency.
Ultimately, the Tabax Construire Party reaffirms its unwavering support for initiatives aimed at guaranteeing accountability and repairing the damage inherited from the old regime, in particular:
Irresponsible management of public debt;
Mismanagement, corruption and nepotism;
Financial scandals;
Violations of rights and freedoms;
Misdirected investments.
Finally, the Tabax Construire Party, chaired by Boubacar Camara Kamâh, reiterated its total commitment alongside Pastef-Les Patriotes, the Government and the National Assembly.
