The City of Lille mobilized in solidarity with Mayotte after the passage of Cyclone Chido.
Mayotte was devastated by the passage of Cyclone Chido, the most intense the archipelago has seen in 90 years. Faithful to its values of solidarity, the City of Lille expresses its full support to the Mahorais and the bereaved families.
The Lille Foundation is today launching an appeal for emergency donations from residents, associations and businesses to support all those working closely with affected populations – NGOs, associations, volunteers, etc.
To meet the needs of the Mahorese population and the communities of the archipelago, the City of Lille pays, in agreement with all political groups, emergency aid of 20,000 euros to the Lille Foundation.
The aim is to contribute to the national effort to respond to the considerable humanitarian needs in Mayotte, already the poorest department in France: supplies of food products, medicines, hygiene products, clothing, reception and rehousing of victims, etc.
From now on, everyone can, within their means, make a donationonline via the secure Hello Asso platform or by check specifying the order: “Fondation de Lille – Solidarité Mayotte”.
In this moment of distress, the City of Lille knows how to count on the solidarity of the Lille residents, whose thoughts are with the people of Mahor, and all those who work to help them.
