A boost to the bilateral joint trade and investment committee, diplomatic synergy, parliamentary cooperation: what Morocco and Chile have decided

The President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, met, Wednesday in Rabat, Karol Cariola, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, to examine ways to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two countries.

The discussions focused on bilateral relations, Morocco’s major development projects, particularly in the southern provinces, as well as the exchange of parliamentary experiences and coordination in regional and international forums, while respecting sovereignty. and the territorial integrity of States.

This meeting was held in the presence of the Chilean deputy Tomás de Rementeria Venegas and the Chilean ambassador in Rabat, Alberto Rodriguez Aspillaga. Ms. Cariola is also participating in the work of the “Congress of the Future” organized in Rabat on December 17 and 18.

Optimal management of water resources

The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, met on Wednesday in Rabat with the Chilean Minister of Public Works, Jessica Lopez, to examine prospects for cooperation in the management of water resources.

Mr. Baraka presented Morocco’s efforts in the area of ​​seawater desalination and integrated management of hydraulic basins, within the framework of the National Water Strategy for 2050. For her part, Ms. Lopez spoke about the Chilean experience in preserving water resources and using new technologies for their sustainability.

This meeting is part of Ms. Lopez’s participation in the “Congress of the Future” organized in Rabat by the Moroccan Parliament.

Strong bilateral policy

Relations between Morocco and Chile offer significant potential for bilateral cooperation, said Chilean Minister of Foreign Relations Alberto Van Klaveren Stork on Wednesday in Rabat following discussions with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser. Bourita.

The talks focused on the revitalization of the Bilateral Joint Trade and Investment Committee, with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Van Klaveren Stork also reiterated Chile’s support for the UN process for a realistic and lasting solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue, within the framework of the initiative presented by Morocco in 2007.

The head of Chilean diplomacy is participating in the work of the “Congress of the Future,” a space for reflection initiated in Chile eleven years ago and now open to an international dimension.
