On December 12, 2024, as part of the action program “Network Schools for the Energy Transition”, Enedis in Côte d’Azur and the G. Cisson high school in Toulon signed, in the presence of Natacha Chicot, Rector of the Academy of Nice, a partnership agreement formalizing the creation of “electrical networks” training.
Supported by National Education and the industrial sector of electrical networks, this program aims to train future electricians for the professions of tomorrow, supporting the massive recruitment needs to respond to the challenges of electrification of uses, in favor of decarbonization. Thanks to this partnership, the high school has been offering students, since the start of the 2024 school year, training enabling them to obtain a specialization certificate. electrical network technician.
By signing this partnership agreement with Enedis, the G. Cisson high school in Toulon formalizes the creation of the specialization certificate electrical network technician.
This training will allow students to benefit from:
- Course content dedicated to professions in the sector
- Materials specific for high school technical platforms
- 16 weeks of internship in companies in the sector
« A vocational high school lives in an economic environment and Enedis placed its trust in the Cisson vocational high school from our first meeting. This specialization certificate allows students, after their MELEC professional baccalaureate, to continue their studies in 1 year, to acquire more seasoned, more complete professional skills and to have faster professional integration. It’s a real School-Business partnership ». Myriam Bobet, Principal of the Lycée G. Cisson (Toulon).
« At Enedis, we are convinced that technical professions are a sector of the future serving the ecological transition. This is why, in partnership with National Education, we launched the “Energy transition network schools” program, with the establishment of a technical platform, content dedicated to electrical networks, internships, field visits and meetings with professionals. With the Cisson high school in Toulon, we share common values of knowledge transmission, inclusion and success. I am proud of this collaboration which trains the talents of tomorrow and supports the development of our territories ». Béatrice Pandelis, Regional Director of Enedis in Côte d’Azur.
« This exemplary partnership between Lycée Cisson and Enedis around electricity professions is a guarantee of success and professional integration for our students. This is a real co-construction: together we build innovative educational projects combining academic knowledge and technical know-how. A School-Business relationship that we strongly encourage within the Nice academy through various mechanisms such as engineers for the school ». Natacha Chicot, Rector of the Nice academy.
In the Nice academy, 2 high schools already participate in the program “Network Schools for the energy transition” with the support of Enedis : the Eucalyptus high school (Nice) with the coloring of the professional baccalaureate diploma in electricity and its connected environments (MELEC) and the G. Cisson high school (Toulon) with the opening of this specialization. In total, there are today more than 150 establishments throughout France which welcome young people from second to BTS in “electrical networks” classes.
The specialization certificate (or additional mention) electrical network technician prepares for the profession of above-ground electrical network installer. Lasting one year, this training mainly involves in continuation of the MELEC professional baccalaureate. It offers students the opportunity to train for a profession that is recruiting, with rich professional prospects.
In France, the share of electricity in final energy consumption will increase from 25% to 55% by 2050.
Thus, the establishment of these specific classes contributes to the attractiveness of the industrial sector of electrical networks by offering students a concrete professional project in order to respond in particular to the challenges of developing electrical networks in the face of the challenge of ecological transition: digitalization of networks, connection of charging infrastructures for electric vehicles, integration of renewable energies, etc.
To support this acceleration, Enedis in Côte d’Azur is also continuing its recruitment in the region with a prospect of 80 hires in 2025 in Var and Alpes-Maritimes in the electrical network sector.
A meeting rich in exchanges with the students and teachers of this 1st promotion.
