In , high school students from Dupuy-de-Lôme at the National Assembly

The atmosphere was studious, Friday December 13, 2024, in a final year class at the Dupuy-de-Lôme high school, in . The students listened attentively to Stephan Hubert, president of the orientation council of Ereb (Ethical Reflection Space of ). The latter came to bring his scientific knowledge as part of the work carried out by the philosophy professor, Gilles Quinio, with his 35 students. “In addition to the philosophy program, I offer a whole dimension on bioethics, with external speakers,” he explains. This year we focused on misinformation, in terms of nutrition, alternative medicine and artificial intelligence. We must counter the harmful effects of social networks, on which we see everything and anything.”

“A hell of a project”

On the occasion of National High School Students’ Day, in May 2025, five students – Elina, Clémence, Jeanne, Mathilde and Lily – will go to the National Assembly to present a presentation on these themes, in front of two members of the CCNE (Comité national ethics advisory body for life and health sciences). “It’s quite a project that allows them to highlight their work,” emphasizes Gilles Quinio. For their part, the high school girls take their role very seriously. “It is important that it is young people who talk to young people about these themes. We don’t always check the information we read on social networks,” explains Clémence.
