Far from traditional presentations, Huawei Cloud Northern Africa presented concrete issues in terms of cloud computing and artificial intelligence in a sector in full transformation, with the aim of positioning Moroccan media in the global digital race.
Nicolas Yuan, Vice President of Huawei Cloud for North Africa, set the tone from the start by returning to Huawei’s heritage in Morocco. Present since 2002, the company has consolidated its links with the country’s various strategic sectors, from government to telecommunications. “Huawei is here to listen, understand and co-build solutions adapted to the needs of Moroccan stakeholders,” he said. The message is clear: the cloud is not a simple evolution, but an essential tool to ensure performance, competitiveness and innovation.
Through concrete examples, Wissal Ziki, Senior Cloud Solutions Architect at Huawei Technologies, presented the power of cloud solutions in the media sector. The Mango TV case study particularly illustrated the potential of cloud infrastructure in optimizing performance. “The media need to modernize their applications, manage colossal volumes of data and ensure real-time broadcasts. With Huawei Cloud, these challenges become opportunities,” underlined Wissal Ziki to an attentive audience.
The figures revealed speak for themselves. Huawei Cloud leverages 94 availability zones across 34 global regions, ensuring minimal latency for services like live streaming or content storage. A technological advance that meets the specific needs of the media, where every millisecond counts to capture the audience.
At the same time, Huawei is investing massively in research and development: 23 billion dollars in 2023, with a total exceeding 166 billion over the last decade. A strategy that has earned the company a place among the 8 most innovative companies in the world, according to the Boston Consulting Group. These investments enable Huawei to be a key player in technologies like AI, 5G networks and cloud infrastructure.
The Moroccan media sector, like its international counterparts, is faced with a double pressure: meeting the expectations of an ever more demanding public and integrating complex technological solutions within short deadlines. In this context, Huawei Cloud positions itself as a strategic ally. The presentations highlighted concrete progress for Morocco. Nicolas Yuan recalled that Huawei works with local partners to strengthen the digital ecosystem.
