Former Saint-Ouen ice rink
From Dec 6 2024 to Feb. 28 2025
Take off… This winter, the old skating rink of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, converted into a cultural venue, welcomes Léa’s Oceanan immersive exhibition signed by the artist Junior Fritz Jacquet. Through this sensitive and poetic journey, JFJ pays homage to the beauty and fragility of the oceans while raising public awareness of their preservation. The exhibition transforms the space into a real underwater world, where fish, algae and other marine creatures evolve in a dreamlike setting. Over more than 1,500 m², visitors are invited to take the plunge and explore the abyss without ever leaving dry land. The artist from Saint-Ouen explains that this space has a special meaning for him, and that he wanted to offer new life to the ice rink, with this event rich in activities: narrated tours, conferences and a skating competition. The most beautiful aquarium are also planned! With a little imagination, 3 months of work and 10 tons of recovered parchment paper, the artist recreates luminescent marine fauna and flora, looking like fantastic creatures. Enough to remind us that this ecosystem that we take for granted is indeed something marvelous, and that it is worth defending.
