Since 2020, the France IA HUB has provided, via its mapping, visibility to promising French start-ups whose AI is the heart of the product or service offered. The call for applications for the 2025 edition is open, within an expanded framework which now includes a section devoted to ecological transition.
The 4th edition of the French section of the European Mapping of AI Start-ups made it possible to reference 328 start-ups, including 103 new ones.
Caroline Chopinaud, general director of the France IA Hub, underlines:
“The France IA Hub launched this mapping project with its European partners in 2020. It is a fund project that seemed particularly important to us, both to highlight the French and European AI ecosystem and to help make it readable. Our ambition is not to have an audience of logos, but to ultimately create a real operational tool within which buyers, VCs and institutions can find useful players and information. Since the launch of this project, the number of start-ups listed in France has almost doubled!”
AI at the service of the ecological transition
For two years, the France AI Hub has been actively engaged in promoting frugal and resource-friendly AI. The association contributed to the development of the first global benchmark for energy-efficient AI, published in 2024, in collaboration with the Ecolab of the General Commission for Sustainable Development and AFNOR.
The integration of an ecological component in updating the cartography is part of this continuity. This approach therefore resonates with the main themes of the AI Action Summit, which will take place in Paris next February and will highlight the interactions between AI and sustainability.

A strengthened European dimension
Since its creation, the mapping of the France IA Hub has been part of a European vision, including representatives from several EU member countries. The 2025 edition takes on a new dimension as part of the DeployAI project, supported by the European Commission. This project aims to establish a map of AI start-ups in the 27 member countries, thus strengthening the visibility of solutions on a continental scale.
The French part of the cartography will be presented in April 2025 during a public event. This will be a unique opportunity for the selected start-ups to gain visibility and build links with strategic partners.
