The CCAS of Toulon, strongly committed to intergenerational solidarity, presents a new initiative with the launch of a partnership between the Le Porphyre Autonomy Residence and the ULIS class (Localized Unit for Educational Inclusion) of Collège Pierre Puget.
This innovative educational project, which will extend over the 2024-2025 school year, aims to, through encounters, promote the transmission of knowledge, mutual aid and social inclusion.
Innovative teaching practices
For the independent elderly people of the Le Porphyre Autonomy Residence, this type of commitment is not entirely a first for them since they regularly express the wish to get involved in solidarity projects, in particular aimed at young people. with a disability. This desire has already materialized through various projects.
This time it is a question of young people and elders doing class together through the decolonization of a weekly hour of life and earth sciences (SVT) lessons.
« These moments will be an opportunity to create student-resident pairs for collaborative work, with final evaluations planned. », Explains the CCAS.
From April to May, these same pairs will work together to present a talent or a common creation in front of an audience made up of residents, students, members of the CCAS and representatives of the college. An event scheduled for June.
A fertile collaboration which aims to offer students a civic project and innovative teaching practices. And which allows residents to strengthen their sense of social usefulness, stimulate their cognitive abilities and their creativity. The objective being for everyone being to “ create a virtuous circle of inclusion by promoting the skills and experiences of each person », Explain the initiators of the project.
