The new Action store located in the Cityfs shopping center, along the Caen-Falaise dual carriageway, Ifs (Calvados), n’a not open as advertised this Saturday, December 14, 2024. Many customers broke their noses in front of the brand that day, like in previous weeks because the first opening of the brand in Ifs was announced on November 30.

The installation of the Action sign in the Cityfs shopping center had to require a passage before the Departmental Commercial Development Commission (CDAC) to modify the activity dedicated to this 2,000 m2 locationinitially intended for a high-end appliance store. The CDAC made a favorable opinion on this project from the Action store on last November 28.

They do not have authorization to open at the moment, because there is a period of one month after validation in CDAC during which there may be appeals. The Prefecture therefore does not authorize this opening within this period of time. The City and the safety commission did everything as quickly as possible to allow the rapid opening, but there are legal deadlines and Action took time to provide certain documents.

Opening announced by Action on December 23

The Dutch hard-discount brand, created 31 years ago, announces open its Ifs store on Monday December 23, 2024. Will it really open its doors before Christmas or will it have to wait until the end of December, once the one month deadline after the CDAC has passed?

As a reminder, Action matters three other stores in the area Caen, in Val Saint-Clair in Hérouvillenear the Leroy Merlin at Mondeville and to Banks of the Orne in Caenwhich opened on October 19, 2024.
