After choosing to leave Red Star, despite the rise to Ligue 2, Habib Beye wishes to take control of an ambitious project. After offering his services to OM last summer, the former defender is now trying to convince ASSE and FC Nantes.
For three seasons, Habib Beye carried the Red Star project on his shoulders. For his first experience as a coach, the former OM defender showed excellent abilities to lead, over the long term, the ambition of a club. And with a record of 55 wins, 23 draws and 29 defeats, Beye ended his Ile-de-France adventure with a rise to Ligue 2, the objective set at the start.
Beye takes a big gamble
Ambitious, Habib Beye chose to say stop to Red Star. His goal: to find a challenge in Ligue 1 and continue to climb the ladder in his young coaching career. Last summer, he was sure he could find the right shoe for him. On the short list of OM, to whom he offered his services, the Canal+ consultant saw Roberto De Zerbi take the position. And although his name has circulated several times in recent months, no lead has ultimately come to fruition.
Proposed to ASSE and Nantes
At the end of 2024, Habib Beye has ants in his hands. Anxious to find a sideline, he lets his agents offer his services almost everywhere in France. Recently, his profile was submitted to FC Nantes and AS Saint-Etienne. A risky strategy because by receiving several refusals, its image is likely to be tarnished. A coach who is advertised everywhere and who ultimately doesn’t sign anywhere, that’s suspicious…
