If you are still stuck on gift ideas or are simply stuck, rest assured, you are not the only ones. And then it’s good: I’m here. And not just a little. To be like “the other”, I let my beard grow (I’ve been there for 6 months…), I put on my most beautiful red outfit (maximum credibility) to concoct for you a small selection of very good Toulouse restaurants to offer. Or better, to treat yourself.
A well-hidden pearl
This is perhaps THE restaurant that I would put at the top of my list. Root Dishesa little semi-gastronomic pearl hidden in the long avenue Saint-Exupéry. So inventive in its proposals (a menu in several stages -€48 or €54- which uses each element of the food).
Delicious, respectful of the products and the seasons, very imaginative when it comes to food and wine pairings. And above all, deeply human, like its chef, Romain Laval, “epicurious” who alone ensures in the kitchen and in the dining room, the service as well as the presentation of his dishes, whose history and genesis he tells in front of you. It’s very simple: as long as you don’t go, I will continue to talk to you about it. You have been warned.
Choice for everyone
Another restaurant that fully deserves to be eaten there: Land Toulouselocated just opposite the glitzy Place Mage. Very discreet too, and yet! Beautiful mastery on the plate, nourished by very beautiful products worked with care. Without forgetting the menus (€25 for lunch, and €39/€46 for the evening) which don’t forget anyone with a real vegetarian option for each dish (and not the same plate as the others, planed with its meat or its fish ).
Scallops, duck breast and log
Just as refined, Agapes. This young, intimate restaurant in the city center will undoubtedly seduce you with its precise tastes and its perfect seasonings. Finally, if you prefer to celebrate Christmas a little early, head to Saint-Cyprien for the superb holiday menu at Court-Circuit (don’t delay, it’s available until December 21, only in the evening). Scallops cooked to perfection and marvelous grape/caper puree, sculptural duck breast and its red wine jus, Caribbean log.
All at a gift price: €32 or €35 depending on the dish chosen. That’s also the magic of Christmas.
