An RATP bus crashed into one of the most famous buildings in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis) this Tuesday at the end of the day. For a reason still unknown at this stage, the driver of the vehicle hit the facade of Bouillon du Coq, the restaurant opened last July by starred chef Thierry Marx on the corner of Boulevard Jean-Jaurès and Rue du Docteur- Bauer, right in the city center.
“There are no injuries, only sheet metal. Everything is fine, more fear than harm,” replied a restaurant manager by telephone this Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. Outside, the police had established a security perimeter while many residents immortalized this funny scene. According to testimonies from local residents, the bus driver “swerved the wheel to avoid a scooter which had just tailgated her”.
Le Bouillon du Coq, an already very popular restaurant
Contacted, the Paris fire brigade (BSPP) confirmed for its part that the accident only caused two very minor injuries, “relative emergencies”, which did not result in transfer to a hospital center.
Will this accident have repercussions on the opening of the restaurant in the coming days and throughout the Christmas holidays? Well positioned just opposite the new stop of line 14 of the Paris metro, Bouillon is already very popular with residents and employees of the sector, which notably includes the headquarters of the Ile-de-France region. He took over the iconic Coq de la Maison-Blanche, a culinary institution which closed its doors in 2018.
