In , a surge of solidarity to help the Mahorese population

“We can no longer bear to sit around doing nothing at home, we want to be of use to something.” This Tuesday, December 17 at 11 a.m., at the Maison Pour Tous in Penhars, four members of the Mahorese community met to drop off boxes of children’s clothing. Born in Mayotte, these young women, feeling powerless, want to be useful. “We wonder how they manage to eat, without electricity, all the freezers are broken. We thought about an online jackpot but with jackpots, we don’t know where the money goes,” explains one of them, whose parents live in Mayotte. If they have already collected a few boxes of clothing, the question of delivery remains.

Exceptional aid of €5,000

Given the extent of the damage and the logistical difficulties in transporting material goods, Bretagne Ouest recommends favoring financial donations in order to effectively help the Mahorais and contribute to the reconstruction of the archipelago. The Agglo directs donors to the Civil Protection website: www.protection-civile.org/

In a press release, Isabelle Assih, mayor of Quimper and president of Quimper Bretagne Ouest, announces that she will propose to submit to the vote of the next Community Council exceptional aid of €5,000 for Civil Protection in order to participate in this surge of solidarity .
