Every year, Roubaix transforms into an open-air gallery, inviting visitors to explore its architectural treasures enhanced by light creations. Between December 5, 2024 and May 17, 2025, the third edition of Nuits des Arts Luminaires promises an enchanting artistic journey, free and open to all, illuminating the city every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
Since 2022, this event has set itself the mission of promoting Roubaisian heritage while re-enchanting the urban space. Through poetic and animated installations, the emblematic facades are transformed into living canvases, offering a unique nighttime stroll. Combining magic and sobriety, this event respects the ecological transition thanks to energy-efficient lighting technologies.
The new season promises to be full of surprises. Among the new creations, TRAMES, by Bruno Ribeiro, explores the link between memory and technology through a monumental projection on the National Archives of the World of Work, while Blooming Mind, by Jésus s.Baptista, offers an immersive experience fragmenting reality on the facade of the Watremez room.
Key works from previous editions also make a return. At the town hall, Sur le fil et le point offers a visual and musical poem inspired by the textile heritage, while Aux sources de l’Art Déco, at the La Piscine museum, revisits the great artistic movements of Roubaix. The famous Mr. Cat comes to life at the Quai de l’Image, transforming the fresco by street artist Thoma Vuille into a fun and colorful spectacle. The Saint-Martin church unveils Reflet, a work created by Roubais students, while From Plant to Fabrics, at ENSAIT, evokes biosourced textile plants in an immersive and contemplative projection.
The lighting experience evolves with the seasons, with schedules adapting to the length of the nights to allow everyone to fully enjoy this magical spectacle. Each evening becomes an invitation to rediscover Roubaix in another day, or rather in another light.
The Nights of Luminous Arts do not just illuminate the city; they celebrate its history, its creativity and its future. From December to May, let yourself be carried away by this journey to the heart of a reinvented Roubaix, where past and future meet in a ballet of colors and emotions.
