A great initiative to put to the credit of the “sleuths” of the drug brigade and the underground economy of Local judicial police service -Slpj- of the interdepartmental direction of the national police -DIPN 34- of Hérault: 5kg of cannabis were seized thanks to the dismantling of a Ubershit network in the Badge, Montpellier.

It all started on Wednesday December 11, 2024, thanks to the exploitation of information, suggesting drug trafficking in rue Aventurin, not far from rue de l’Université. ” Police ” ! This suspect was immediately arrested. Bingo: the bags contain 2.5kg of cannabis herb et 2.45kg of resin. In the process, the individual seen entering the building is arrested and both are taken to the central police station, before a search of the apartment housing an Ubershit.

Small quantities of cannabis, precision scales to sell illegal products in various doses, knives to cut the drug, €1,200 in cash and an account book for customers who consume hash, as well as a bulletproof vest bearing the inscription “police” were found placed under seal. Were the dealers pretending to be police officers?

Aged 25, the two suspects were placed in police custody, where it emerged that they are alleged dealers and conveyors of cannabis in large quantities for recent months, spraying the city center, but weaving their web beyond. They are suspected of having engaged in “meet ups”, direct meetings to deliver hashish to the homes of numerous customers. Neither seen nor known. The two individuals were referred to the Montpellier public prosecutor’s office for legal action. In recent months, traffickers who set up an Ubershit network on the northeastern outskirts of Montpellier have been sentenced to prison terms by the criminal court.

What is an Ubershit?

The practice of home delivery of drugs, called Ubershit in reference to the couriers of meal delivery platforms, exploded during confinement and is gaining more and more ground.
