Last straight line before the great unwrapping of gifts ! And for some, it’s not always easy to find the idea to slip under the tree. What if we suggested that you highlight those who produce near you ? And for that, there is the ideal store in La Roche-sur-Yon that you wouldn’t think of spontaneously. It is about the tourist office. Place des Halles, Destination La Roche-sur-Yon is not just for tourists! This address which invites you to travel to Yonnaise lands also offers a beautiful showcase for local products that visitors do not hesitate to slip into their suitcase to bring back a souvenir of their visit. Why not, Yonnais, do the same?
All smiles, Magali and Jean-Baptiste are happy to highlight all the local know-how. Souvenir objects representing the city, various creations, gourmet and fragrant… The tourist office shop is full of local treasures to offer.
The goal is to show the richness of our territory, to highlight our local creators and producers, to present the identity of our Yonnais area in the form of gifts.
Napoleon, his city, his place, his ultra-colorful animals
And there is something for everyone, young and old.
On the stalls of the office, the City of Rock, Napoleon, his place and his animals reign somewhat supreme. The emperor and his court appear in the form of derivative products such as pretty posters, magnets, key rings, mugs… ultra-colorful for a purely Yonnais peppy gift. “These objects are made by the Beau bazar brand located in Sables-d’Olonne,” explains Magali. “We also have other derivative products such as animal figurines, or this coloring book which uses the drawings of the animals of the place, faithful to the machines of Delarozière,” breathes Jean-Baptiste. A product that can appeal to children and all coloring enthusiasts.
Of numerous workslocal and careful editions for all ages, also celebrate the emperor and local history, if not jeux in the form of cards or board games. « On a la treasure hunt and these eight puzzles to discover which are very popular and which for €12 allow for a very fun outing in the heart of La Roche town centre. »
A gourmet territory
The office also offers a beautiful showcase for the territory which flows along the Yon. A more gourmet offer this time.
We of course find the unbeatable mogette there. “A flagship product that still works, inexpensive, more like the Vendée,” notes Magali. “But 3/4 of the products we present are essentially manufactured in the urban area. »
There’s enough to fill a nice party plate. Like this special Christmas box imagined by La P’tite Soupe de Nesmy with its aperitif cream“a more refined festive soup”, its Fern atypical, “a vegetable spread” and its spread with chocolate… made from mogettes. “Super good!” You should know that there is mogette,” laughs Magali.
Around vegetables, the shop also offers an extraordinary Vegetable Garden corner with its soups and jams made with products grown on site.
You will also find something to accompany these dishes, such as wines from the Berteaud Manceau winery, located in Mouilleron-le-Captif, the beers La Danse de l’Ours, brewed in Rives de l’Yon “and their aperitif biscuits made from spent grain, the cereal used for brewing”, underlines Jean-Baptiste, or even the sirops concocted by Aude, producer of aromatic plants in La Roche called L’Ode aux Plantes. “It also offers five varieties of herbal teas“, specifies Magali. There is also spirulina manufactured by L’atelier de l’eau in La Roche-sur-Yon.
A valley that smells of good craftsmanship
To breathe in this festive spirit, the office boutique highlights the candles by Max and Sylvie, a loving couple from Dompierre-sur-Yon who create customizable candles and who had the idea of a candle with the scent of cut herbs from the Yon valley. “We also have a discovery kit of soaps from the Polka artisanal soap factory. Silky know-how mastered by Yonnaise Estelle Ducros.
Finally, it’s impossible to miss the local artisanal know-how, notably the Vendée hearts sculpted by the Aubin carpentry firm Gendreau, and a beautiful display of pottery from Nesmy and La Barbotine in Aubigny-Les Clouzeaux. ” These pottery serve as a call and can trigger the desire and the idea of a visit to these artisanal sites,” is convinced Magali.
All these presents with a strong identity can suit all budgets, the prices oscillating between €3 for a pack of mogettes and €36 for the most expensive with the board game Jeu de la Vendée.
