A partnership agreement was signed this Tuesday, December 17 between La FDE62, GRDF Hauts-de-France, and Enedis Nord-Pas-de-Calais for the security of the gas and electricity networks. The objective of this agreement is, among other things, to avoid incidents as much as possible in the event of work near the networks. Every year, nearly 200 incidents occur in Pas-de-Calais, often following human errors or ignorance of the installations. Several actions are put in place to avoid these incidents. GRDF invests one million euros every day in France in industrial safety and GRDF and Enedis are partners with SDIS62. These three entities carry out joint training to ensure effective intervention in the event of an emergency.
Since the implementation of these elements, the number of incidents has been decreasing. Between 2022 and 2023, the number of damages to gas structures increased from 75 to 61 and for electrical structures from 92 to 85.
«Safety is everyone’s business, to succeed, close collaboration between all stakeholders in the territory, the energy sector and the companies involved is necessary.» declared Didier Cousin, GRDF Hauts-de-France regional territorial director. Words similar to those of Jean-Lorain Genty, ENEDIS Nord-Pas-de-Calais regional director, who assures “that as a public service company, safety is our priority; both that of employees who work on this type of construction site and that of third parties. I am delighted with this partnership with GRDF and the FDE 62 which highlights all the awareness work carried out by our teams».
